専門は分子生物学と行動生物学。材料はミツバチと小型魚類(メダカ)の両方を用いて視覚行動及び社会性行動の脳の分子的基盤を解析している。また数年前から数理工学的手法にも挑戦している.日本分子生物学会、日本動物学会、国際社会生昆虫学会に所属.
